Anniversary

September 12th, 2006 by Mike Keesey :: see related comic

No, not that anniversary—that was yesterday.

And, actually, the anniversary I’m referring to is tomorrow. For it was September 13th, 2005 that I posted the first Parry & Carney comic strip on this site.

A moment of silence for Parry—and all whose fires were extinguished before their time…No, not that anniversary—that was yesterday.

And, actually, the anniversary I’m referring to is tomorrow. For it was September 13th, 2005 that I posted the first Parry & Carney comic strip on this site.

A moment of silence for Parry—and anyone else who warrants it…

A SONG FOR CARNEY
In honour of the one-year anniversary of Parry & Carney
By Debbie Ridpath Ohi

Carney, here’s a song for you
And though it has no chorus
or music, hey, it’s hard to find
a rhyme for carnotaurus.

As for parasaurolophus,
a rhyme’s out of the question,
Besides, Carney bit off Parry’s head
without trace of indigestion!

THE END

No rhymes for Parasaurolophus?
Find one, I implore all of us!

The doubters try to show us
Unrhymed parasaurolophus.
But if they had really known us
And our mad harmonic onus
They would fear to ever loan us
A sesquipedalian sonus
Such as this.

And, actually, as soon as I posted it I realized it should have been:

A sesquipedalian sonus
Such as parasaurolophus.
Bonus!

Curse you, I still can’t let it go - final (I hope) polish:

The doubters try to show us
Unrhymed parasaurolophus.
But if they had really known us
And our mad harmonic onus
They would fear to ever loan us
A sesquipedalian opus
Keeping us glued to our sofas
Like with parasaurolophus.
Bonus!
