Well, I was going to write a big essay about the recently-published, well-preserved coelurosaur Juravenator starki and its implications for theropod integument—specifically that all-important question: did Tyrannosaurus rex look like a giant chicken?—but I’ll have to do it later in the week.

Well, there is some material ascribed to tyrannosaurids so they say, though doesn’t rule out feathers i’m afraid. Could be that conditions were right to preserve skin and not feather type augment, or maybe the skin was preseved during some sort of molting cycle, (you never know) or that the particular part of the animal preserved was featherless yes but the rest of it could have posessed some… I’m not wild about the idea of T rex looking like Big Bird either, but thems is the breaks
